Living With Diabetes

It’s a Balancing Act

Balancing Act - Carbs, Calories and Fats

Living with diabetes is a constant balancing act between the food you eat, the insulin you naturally produce or take by injection, and the exercise you get. Insulin provides the mechanism for burning the food for energy to run your complex body. Exercise lowers your blood sugar level. If you eat more food, you will need more insulin and more exercise. If you eat less food, you will need less insulin and exercise.

The hardest part is to make this a habit.  Keep thinking about this as a balancing act.

Consistency isn’t such a tremendous price to pay for feeling well now and in the future.

It will eventually become a lifestyle that you can live with.
